This is so clever, Deana! And just as sweet as that strawberry B-I-S-C-U-T, too!
Thanks! I wanted to do something fun!
Brilliant
Thanks!
Very creative, Who l u c k y to get biscuit for a spelling bee word? Cute and well done, hun.
Thanks Babe!
you little trickster -way to pull that one off 😉
Ha! Thanks! I’m glad it worked.
And with that word – he was luck indeed! 🙂
He was! Thanks for reading.
Pretty clever, D…

Hey, you deserve it.
Clever and cute you get the 2 C’s Award from me 🙂
Thanks my friend!
Deana, this was a very smart way to approach the challenge. I love spelling bees, only I remember my daughter, Riley, being a finalist. The first kid got a word like “Luckier,” and then she was given “Baroque.” Honest to God, what were they thinking? It was third grade!! I still hold the grudge, I admit. Riley has completely moved on, though – such is motherhood!
Nicely played, Deana. Peace, Amy
I am so glad you liked it! I wanted to do something fun this time. I am the same way with my daughters! Its funny how I hold grudges for them!
This is so sweet!
Thanks Sandra
Ha ha! Can I have the etymology please? Brings back fond memories of the spelling bee. I used to be obsessed. 🙂
I loved spelling bee’s growing up! Thanks for liking it.
I think Travis had the inside track on this one. Nicely done, imaginative take on the prompt.
Thanks Sandra! I am so glad you liked it.
Quite possibly the cleverest working in of the word I’ve yet seen in one of theses challenges.
This has made my day! Thank you so very much!
This was brilliant!! Not only is this fun to read, but I myself am worried about somehow using the word wrong, and you made sure it is used correctly. Love this Deana!!!
You figured me out! Thank you for liking it!
A biscuit, a biscuit, my trophy for a strawberry biscuit. I enjoyed it.

Thanks Tara!
I will echo Tara – very creative! Nice take, deana!
Thank you so much Steph!
That was fun.
Thanks!
Ooh, this was sneaky…I like it! Brings back memories of Spelling Bee days. I made it to the city challenge and was out on my first word: Circuitous. Funny how I can’t remember to bring my grocery list to the store, but I can remember a misspelled word from fourth grade 🙂
Too funny! I am the same way. I remember the weirdest things.
Haha – my favorite part: please use biscuit in a sentence. Nice fun take on the prompt
Thanks Brian! I am glad you liked it.
Ha… very original.
Thank you so much!
I used to embarrass my girls by giving them spelling bees (in English) on the subway, making them repeat the word before and after they spelled it. Pronunciation was also a priority!
Thanks for the memory, Deana.
I did that to my girls as well! Thank you!
I would have spelled biscuit that way, too.
This was fun!
Thanks Tina!
Your tricks put a smile on my face tonight…very nice.
I love that you like it!
Oh you little cheat…lol Kidding, kidding (: I remember spelling bees. I only ever did one because I was (and still am) terribly stage shy. Clever piece!
hehe, I’m sneaky like that! lol Thanks
Some years back, a man and his wife in my neighborhood came out of their house to admire my new (now old) dog. They patted the dog, chatting about their own new pup and the difficulties of training. Finally the man looked at me and said, “would your dog like a bisquit?” And the wife? She was mortified at his spelling.
That is too funny. I think a lot of people spell that one wrong!
Ha! Very clever! 🙂
Thanks Christine.
Sweet & ingenious piece ,Deana, loved it:-)
Thank you so much!
🙂
Once in grade 5 I screwed the spelling of niece! Until I learnt the rule of I before E except after C! 😛
I always had trouble with word beautiful…. Thanks for reading.
Love how you worked definition into the story. Nice one, as usual.
Thank you so much!
